Robin’s face flushed with anger, but Sanford stood his ground, firmly blocking his path.
Frustrated, Robin spat, “Just you wait, I won’t let you off!” With that, he stormed out in a huff.
Sanford walked over to the door and quietly closed it behind him.
The room fell silent once more, and Stella finally let out a sigh of relief.
Sanford glanced at her and couldn’t help but say, “The Wheeler family isn’t going to back down easily.”
She managed a strained smile and said, “As long as Matthew hasn’t regained his memory, none of his decisions truly count. I can’t afford to give up just yet.”
He was taken aback, his brows knitting together as a flicker of deep thought passed through his eyes.
Stella didn’t notice the complexity in his expression and simply said, “I want to check out of here.”
Sanford’s expression quickly returned to normal. “I’ll take care of the discharge paperwork for you,” he replied.
“Okay,” Stella nodded, watching as he turned and left the room.
After Sanford left, she got out of bed, swiftly packed her belongings, and left the ward, deciding to wait for him outside.
As she walked down the hallway, she vaguely caught the sound of Lindsay’s voice coming from one of the nearby wards.
She instinctively stopped, her gaze shifting toward the door, curiosity tugging at her.
The door was slightly ajar, and through the gap, Stella saw Lindsay clinging to Matthew’s waist.

She froze in place, stunned. What shocked her even more was that Matthew wasn’t resisting-he was letting Lindsay hold him like that.
She stared at the scene, her instincts urging her to walk in.
But reason quickly took over. She knew that barging in would only escalate things and make the situation worse.
With these thoughts, she took a few deep breaths, pushing down her swirling emotions, and quietly turned to leave.
In the ward, Matthew’s expression darkened as he forcefully pulled Lindsay’s arms away.
He had been responding to a work message when Lindsay suddenly embraced him, catching him off guard.
Seeing Matthew’s clear discomfort, Lindsay’s eyes filled with tears.
“Matthew, are you angry with me? I’m so frightened… I’m terrified I might never walk again…”
Suppressing his frustration, Matthew advised, “Focus on resting and avoid overthinking. The doctor mentioned that your fainting was due to excessive worry.”
He cast a glance at Lindsay’s legs, a hint of guilt flashing in his eyes. “I’ll arrange another appointment with Ronan. You don’t need to be concerned.”
